Window to the Sky

I’m in love with the bare beauty of the trees in touching distance of twilight as they huddle round this window to the Cornish sky.

I cannot tell what type of trees they are – or what they may have been. In the dimming light above me they feel unmistakenly alike.

These trees reach out but never touch. Distant yet still so close.
Holding everything together like the softened breath of silence.
