We take our life in our hands every day. Easing up on Lockdown last week has gone well, according to our Government. So we’re free-er to follow others down aisles, our smiles hidden behind masks, sanitizer at the ready by the doors, boxes of plastic gloves from which we greedily help ourselves.
We buck up on bravado, but who is not afraid? I know I worry when I wander away from home. Which could well be the reason I’ve only left my flat for a grand total of ten times in ten weeks (and three of those trips were to see a tree!)
But a girl gotta get her groceries. So I went shopping.
I hefted my heavy bags into the boot of my car (which is still stubbornly not starting the first several times I try) and drove home, relieved that no one sneezed on me.
And I said a prayer of gratitude for the men and women who work to keep me fed.
Love and light from Cyprus!
