Some sad news from Cyprus to share with you, my friends. My island paradise is experiencing a slow spike in CoVid cases, which has subsequently led to a new curfew starting on Friday.
Mandatory mask-wearing will also be enforced, even in outdoor spaces, where, up until now, we were free to leave them off until we went into stores or malls.
Being a somewhat solitary person, I don’t go out too often anyway, but if I want to go to the beach between now and November 9, I will have to mask-up (which I will definitely do).
So I went out on a stroll for a while today, stuck my feet in the sea, and watched this school of tiny fish floating around in the shallow water.
Their freedom of movement made me momentarily envious.
But I understand that unless we all, worldwide, conform to the guidelines set for us, we may as well be goldfish in a bowl, swimming in circles, and going nowhere.
staysafe. If you’re able, #stayhome.
And please, wash your hands.
