Feather in the Rain

Looking up at my window as I rest on the sofa on a fragile dip of a day. Feeling soothed, as I always am, by the sound of the rain here in Cornwall.

And then this.

This tiny passing feather falls from nowhere becoming stuck to the window as the raindrops pull it into land.

I’m hypnotised.

Rarely have I noticed how something so beleaguered still looks so very beautiful. Like the free spirit of a rain soaked child peering through the glass tapping gently to say hello.

Dear Debbie Are you the person who started What Do You See From Your Window. If you are the one, I just want to say thank you. I joined early on and have watched it grow at a fast rate of speed. I am grateful for and in awe of such a clever creation and for the sights I’ve seen and the people I otherwise would never have met, from all over the world. I love reading your beautiful words, as well. Thank you.

Hi Jaydean, so lovely to hear how much you enjoy this group, I do too! The group itself was actually set up by a wonderful man called Arik Zara who lives in Lisbon. As you say, it grew unexpectedly into the extraordinary community of hope it has become. Arik has since had to take on new team members to help him manage it. A big job! I’ve been delighted to be one of the small team of volunteer authors and photographers form across the world. It’s been a joy donate to support this most comforting of communities that has been a precious lifeline for so many during this time – including myself. See you on the group and keep looking out that window! 🙂 Take care, Debbie
